We started researching our roots soon after we were married in 1988. I started, and made lots of mistakes - scribbling notes onto scraps of paper, failing to look for correlations, etc. Suzanne began to join me on my expeditions to the records office, and we soon expanded our research to both of our family trees - not focusing too long on any one line. We carried out the bulk of our research between 1988 and 1994, but the arrival of our children, and pressure of work left us with too little time to continue. Since then, the tree has seen only slight expansion - even with contributions from other researchers. Still, one day...

We have details on some 200 plus direct ancestors of our children, and 1300 family members, dating back at the furthest to the early 17th century (mostly English, with a some Welsh, Irish and British India). It will take me a long time to type all of these files into html, so please do not assume that this website is by any means complete. We keep much of our data on Broderbund Family Tree Maker version 3.4, and I have uploaded a gedcom (version 5) file to the server, that covers most of our ancestry:

Our Kin in .gedcom 5 format (zipped) contains details on over 1200 individuals in our family tree. Download it and use winzip, or another file zip program to unzip the .GED file, which can be read by Family Tree Maker and a number of other genealogical database programs. Zip file size is only 32 KB. Last updated May 28th 2001:

32 KB, updated 5/28/01 GEDCOM version 5 (pc), Zipped.

GEDCOM formatted files are genealogical databases that can be opened and viewed by a number of different Family History programs. Once saved in the format of the clent's own program, they can quickly be merged into their own database, or viewed as a tree - or can sometimes even be converted into a word processor document or web pages (html). If you would like a version for Mac, or another format such as .PAF or .FTW, then please with a request.
