This gallery contains scanned and digitally repaired/cleaned photographs that belong to our family, and represent the ancestry of our children between 1850 and 1950. I hope that our family album gives a reasonable picture of an average British family during that period. Each image is saved in compressed jpeg format to between 50 and 98 KB, and can be viewed by clicking on the below thumbnails. I would recommend that you take the full tour, following the tour links on each page.

The method that I used was to scan the photographs on my old parallel port flatbed scanner at 600 dpi. I then cropped and saved them through Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 at 300 dpi Grayscale .psd. I then worked on the images, cloning, sharpening, etc, to repair damage and to enhance. Finally I saved images to print, and also the .jpg compressed images shown on this website.
