John and Ann Curtis (nee Annison)

Known children - Richard infant death 15/9/1803, Theodosia born 3/2/1804, bap 5/2/1804 at Hassingham, Norfolk, William bap 28/2/1808 at Hassingham, Robert born 21/2/1810, bap 18/3/1810, Priscilla born 10/3/1812 bap 28/3/1812, and Sarah Curtis bap 10/7/1814 at Hassingham.

John and Ann's marriage is recorded on the 30th November 1801 in the Hassingham Marriage Register (Hassingham is a small village in Norfolk).

William and Mary Anne Curtis (nee Rose)

William baptised - 28th February 1808 at Hassingham, Norfolk.
Mary Anne baptised - 12th November 1806 at Lingwood, Norfolk.
Married - 6th November 1827 at Strumpshaw, Norfolk.
Known children - Anne Amelia 02/03/1828 Strumpshaw, William bap 03/09/1830 Strumpshaw, Henry bap 21/7/1833 Buckenham Ferry, Norfolk, Alfred bap 28/02/1836, George bap 25/12/1838 Buckenham, Priscilla bap 25/12/1840 Buckenham, Sarah bap 01/02/1846 Buckenham, Henry bap 20/01/1849, and Richard Curtis born c1850 Flixby.
William died - 12th March 1888 Gorleston.
Mary died - 1893 age 87 years at Gt Yarmouth.
William's occupation - GARDENER.

William may have had different occupations earlier in life. The reference to him as being a gardener comes from Mary's death certificate that states she was the Widow of William Curtis, Gardener, Domestic Servant, Gt Yarmouth.

William and Georgina Curtis (nee Larke)

William baptised - 3rd September 1830 at Strumpshaw, Norfolk.
Georgina baptised - 11th September 1831 at Hassingham, Norfolk.
Married - 11th February 1852 at Hassingham, Norfolk.
Known children - Samuel William bap 27/05/1852 Hassingham, Theodosia bap 20/08/1854 Hassingham, Priscilla bap 27/04/1856, Alfred George bap 20/02/1853, Sarah Ann bap 14/4/1861 Hassingham, Mary bap 07/06/1867 Hassingham, and Henry Curtis bap 03/04/1870 Hassingham.
William's occupation - AGRICULTURAL LABOURER.
William died - 13th January 1926 aged 95 at Lingwood, Norfolk. Buried Buckenham Ferry, Norfolk.
Georgina died - 1st April 1911 at Hassingham, buried at Buckenham Ferry.

William and Georgina were married at Hassingham Church on the 11th February 1852. Their witnesses were James Rose and Hannah Larke. They later had at least nine children - four boys and five girls. In 1861 they were living at 13 Church Lane, Hassingham but by 1881, they appear to have moved to 9 Church Lane.

They were buried together at Buckenham St Nicholas. Their headstone still stands in the church grave yard.

Samuel William and Emily Curtis (nee Rose)

Samuel baptised 27th May 1852 at Hassingham.
Emily baptised - 7th January 1857 at Limpenhoe, Norfolk.
Married - 4th March 1875 at Beighton, Norfolk.
Known children - Robert William Rose born 21/12/1874 Hassingham, Emily Priscilla born 27/08/1876 bap 15/10/1882 Beighton, George Frederick born 11/06/1878 bap 10/08/1884 Beighton, Beatrice Pleasance bap 15/10/1882 Beighton, Alfred Henry born c1883 Beighton, Walter born 05/04/1884 Beighton, John Percy bap 17/10/1894, May Florence bap 17/10/1894 age 5, James Sidney born 13/11/1891, Charles Lewis bap 17/10/1894 Limpenhoe (living in Southwood) age 1, and Cecil Frank Curtis bap 07/04/1897.
Samuels occupation - AGRICULTURAL LABOURER, TEAMSMAN, HUSBANDMAN.
Samuel died - age 91 on 24th March 1944.
Emily died - 27th December 1925 at Hassingham. Both are buried together and have a headstone at Hassingham Church.

Photographs of Samuel in old age show him to have had a beard, and to have been a tall man with strong hands. He was known by friends ond family as Owd Fiddler Curtis.
