I believe that Elizabeth remarried after Henry's death, as she is recorded on the 1891 census as Elizabeth Hayes age 55, widow. She was by then living in her married daughter's household.

Known children - Ann bp5/1/1772 (bur 16/1/1779), Thomas bp16/3/1774 (bur 11/4/1779), John bp6/3/1783, Thomas bp3/9/1786, and Mary Edney bp29/5/1791, all at Whitchurch Berks/Oxon.
John and Mary Edney lived in the parish of Whitchurch, on the border of Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The burial register records a time of bad fortune for the family - in April 1779, two of their children died of fever. Our Thomas must have been named after his older brother who had passed away. In the following January, 16 year old Ann also died of the fever.

Thomas baptised - 3rd September 1786 at Whitchurch, Berks/Oxon.
Married - 17th October 1818 at Shiplake, Oxfordshire.
Known children - Charles bp3/8/1821, Maryanne bp17/4/1824, John bp17/6/1827. All at Shiplake Oxfordshire.
Thomas was previously married at Shiplake on the 13th October 1808 to an Elizabeth Ives, who bore him two children: Rebecca baptised 24/1/1813, and Anne, baptised 9/10/1814, both also at Shiplake. Presumably, this earlier wife passed away sometime between 1814 and 1818. Thomas then married our ancestor, Hannah Hedge. Hannah then in turn must have died sometime between 1827 and 1851, as Thomas is recorded as a widower in the 1851 census, when he living with his daughter Maryanne Brooker, and her family in Shiplake. Thomas was described as a thatcher.
He was still alive in 1861, and living with the Brookers, who had now moved to Harpsden Mes Cottages, Harpsden. Although now aged 80, he was described as an agricultural labourer.
