Standing near to the main post office, across from the Market Place roundabout (the actual Market Place is immediately to the right of the photo), and looking at the Green Dragon public house.
There are many pubs (public bars) and some private clubs in Thetford, but not very much late night entertainment - Thetford is not a large town, and unfortunately does not have vibrant evening entertainment! Thetford presently has only one nightclub, and a snooker club, although plenty of fast food outlets.
Thetford has a modern leisure and sports centre, equipped with a gymnasium, sports hall, and a very good indoor heated swimming pool (sports pool, a wave family pool, jacuzzi, childrens pool). The town also has a good public library with internet access, and it has two museums, and a small art gallery.
Thetford does not have a cinema, or a bowling alley. It does not have a 24/7 hospital, the nearest hospital casualty department is at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. Thetford has two general surgery practices.
The nearest city is Norwich, which is 40 kilometres away - there is a direct railway link, but few late night services.
