Thetford Town Centre - King Street
King Street is the ´High Street´ of Thetford town centre. Shops include a butchers, shoe shops, clothing shops, a Woolworths, WH Smiths, Boots, Superdrug, Bakers Oven, card shops, building societies, and most recently - a Subway fast food shop.
Thetford is still a small town. A census in 2001 suggested that Thetford had a population of 21,588. However, the influx of mainly Portuguese migrants, and later, of Polish and East European migrants must have since increased this population. Thetford does not have all of the facilities of a city or large town. The nearest larger towns or cities are Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Cambridge, Kings Lynn, and Ipswich.
