plano-convex flint knife

Small Finds - Plano-Convex Flint Knife found in Santon Warren

Dorsal side of a rather rough looking plano-convex knife. Recovered during forest-walk 37 again, alongside the ugly informal axehead, it appears there was some rough flint workmanship going on in the area of Santon Warren some 4,000 years ago! The flint looks so fresh that it could have been knapped yesterday. The ventral side of this tool can be seen on the next page in the tour.
