Small finds - Roman hypercaust tile from the site of a Romano-British settlement in Thetford Forest
The above hypercaust or boxflue tile (it is broken at a curve) suggests to me that at least one building at Romano-British site 32348 (Norfolk SMR) probably had a domestic heating system - maybe even a bath-house. That also suggests at least one high status building - a villa! The surface of this indoor tile was grated to enable plaster to stick to it better. More on this site on the Roman Site page, and in the Archaeo-Blog.
