flint blades, Thetford Forest

Small finds - flint blades from Thetford Forest

Two small flint blades found at the site of a Roman settlement (32349) at Thetford, less than 100 metres from the Little ouse river, on lower gravel terraces. Both patinated a light grey, I suspect that these date to the earlier neolithic or later mesolithic - some 5,500 to 7,000 years before present maybe.

Blade culture is generally considered to be pre-neolithic - that is to say, pre-farming.
