Drawings of Medieval Ginger Jar Pots

Small finds - Drawings of Medieval Ginger Jar Pots from Brandon

Finally, the technique appilied to the medieval ginger jar pot fragments from the site at Brandon, Suffolk (for more about the site, see the Medieval Site page via the home navigation panel). These were big pots, with inverted rims. There were no base sherds! Why? Because they appear to have been round bottomed - they must have looked like big gingery coloured honey pots without handles. I would guess that they had a particular use. What were they doing at Brandon Suffolk?
