Small Finds - Microlith from Thetford Warren

This tiny microlith turned up when I was investigating an earthwork in Thetford Warren. As it turned out, the earthwork was just an enclosure bank for a 19th century woods. I stumbled across the microlith when I crossed a section of the bank that had been removed by forestry operations - the microlth appeared to be underneath the earthwork. This little flint blade probably dates to the later mesolithic period - some 10,000 to 12,000 years ago. It could have had several uses - including acting as a barb or point in an arrowhead.
